Welcome to our service…

The Therapy and Lifestyle Clinic was created when Siân Spencer-Bray & Joe Cattee, two experienced associates within the Healthcare Industry decided to create a clinic that supported individuals with their mental health needs. Passionate about ensuring that individuals had the standard of professional support required to better themselves, the Therapy and Lifestyle Clinic (TLC) was formed.

Siân and Joe identified that the hardest decisions people need to make, are to address the things which often aren’t spoken about. By providing a safe facility to do this, they are confident that with their Psychotherapists, Counsellors and other healthcare professionals they can start you on the journey to creating a better you.

Gay Horvath

Gay Horvath

Mental Health Nurse, Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner, EMDR Practitioner and ADHD Assessor

Gay began her career in Nottinghamshire in 1993, training to become a mental health nurse within forensic services. Then moved to working in acute psychiatry and addiction before working eventually in community nursing within the Peak District.

Her career has given her considerable experience of helping people with a wide range of issues including trauma, low mood, anxiety and parenthood. Her most recent post in the NHS was as a lead nurse for a perinatal service offering support and therapy to women whilst pregnant up until their child is two years old. Working within this service has increased her interest in childhood trauma and the causes of mental health difficulties.

Gay became drawn to Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) because it is a compassionate, collaborative model and brings an understanding to people of their current problems.  CAT explores the underlying causes of repeating patterns in terms of earlier life and relationships and finds CAT to be an extremely effective time-limited therapy for working with a wide range of problems.

Gay has trained as an EMDR practitioner and therefore also works with individuals with trauma, including attachment trauma and PTSD.

Gay is passionate about supporting women, and their families, who are struggling with mental health challenges during pregnancy or after the birth of their child. Parenthood is one of the most demanding jobs, but with effective support and treatment, the transition can become easier. Birth trauma can have a significant impact on mental health and how you feel as a new parent. Gay is also trained in Mid-life therapy and has a great understanding of the difficulties faced during changes in an individuals life. She offers a compassionate space to discuss your current difficulties, how they are impacting your life and the underlying causes working collaboratively to explore these issues in a non-judgemental way.
